Oh How I've Missed You!

Hello friends! Well it's no secret that I have been an absolutely terrible blogger lately, so let's kick this post off with a big, fat apology. This past month has been one wild ride as I try to re-acclimate myself to life as a student and to a brand new crazy city. With that, my personal life has pretty much set up shop on the back burner.  My diet (in which pizza has quickly become a staple), my workout routine (essentially non-existant these days) and this blog have been painfully ignored. Not to mention that I have barely been able to keep up with all of my daily favorite sites! I feel like I have missed so much. Now that I am somewhat back in the groove of a daily routine, I am really hoping to get the rest of my life back in order pronto. And I am hoping to reconnect with so many of you! This weekend I took a much needed vacay back to Columbus and have spent the past few days relaxing and catching up on life outside of school. It has been awesome.

So happy to be here.

Doing this all day long.

These Boots Are {Not} Made for Walking

If there is one thing I have learned since moving to New York, it is how embarrassingly low of a pain tolerance I have for walking in fabulous shoes. Now that I am running all over town and taking the subway to and fro, flats are my new BFF. Sad but true. The ladies at fashion week however had no issues flitting about town in ridiculously sky high heels. Here are some of shots I snapped while stalking Lincoln Center during during the shows. I need to get myself into a pair of those black cage booties asap. (And then take a cab of course). LOVE.

A {Modern} Family Affair

So excited the Emmy's were on last night! A much needed fix for my red carpet withdrawal. The Emmy's are one of my favorite award shows, its like watching all of my besties hanging out together at one big party. Loved it! There were so many ladies and gents that looked absolutely gorgeous last night.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Claire Danes. Not one to typically outshine the others, she looked drop dead gorgeous in this beautiful Oscar de la Renta gown. Understated yet elegant. Loving the black and blue sequins.

Gweneth is 100% fabulous ALL. OF. THE. TIME. Even with her midriff exposed at a formal affair.

Jennifer Carpenter. Wowza. I am so used to seeing her in those lady suits she is always wearing on Dexter, it is strange to see her all dressed up but she looked amazing! The dress and the hair are perfection. I might be slightly biased since Dexter is probably the best show on tv, but I'm okay with that. Now, how can I get my hair to look like this on a daily basis?

Va va voom. While Sofia Vergara always seems to go for the same sex pot look, it sure does work for her. Those emeralds earrings! PERFECT.

Blech. Julianna is that a dixie cup you're wearing? This dress may have worked on someone a little more out there, but she is far too tame to try something like this.

I love that Heidi is wearing a design of a Project Runway alum! Bravo. However, I am not at all loving this dress. She is a walking coral reef.

Girls of Glee...stick to singing and cheerleading outfits. Glaming it up is apparently not your thing. All of these dresses just looked like they were trying way too hard.

#NYFW Kelly Wearstler

Interior design goddess turned clothing designer Kelly Wearstler showed off her second ever collection this week and the gorgeous mod-glam aesthetic of her interiors translates seamlessly to a runway filled with bold, beautiful prints and colors. With prints inspired by a book of drawings about the Karaha Indians of Brazil, perfectly leather jackets paired with some basic tee's, this collection is about as wearable as they come. I'll take one of everything please.

Check out Kelly's design blog {my vibe my life}

#NYFW Pinch me

Happy Fashion Week! One of my favorite times of year and by far my least productive since I turn into a serious style.com stalker. It's the first time I've been in NYC for fashion week in a while so I have been taking every opportunity to hang around Lincoln Center (and completely ignoring the piles of homework I should be doing instead...oops). On Saturday while I was taking photos of all of the fashionable ladies and gents pretending to look like I knew what I was doing, some amazing Conde Nast photographer just gave me an extra press pass to the Charlotte Ronson show! Just like that. WHAT!? Things like this NEVER happen to me. (Except for one time when I got moved from the nose bleed section to the front row of a Celine Dion concert, but that is slightly more embarrassing than I care to admit so moving on...) It was ridiculous. I had such a blast and was on inspiration overload. Charlotte's show was channeling the 90's with a semi boho-grunge feel, some denim overalls and sweet neon chokers. Here are some of my favorite looks from the show, love the ombre and femininity going on here. Can't wait to head back tomorrow to see what other shows I can talk my way into!

Some shots from the photographer pit...via my iphone! Not the best choice of equipment I'm aware, but I'll leave that to the pros.

After an amazing beach weekend there is no doubt about it, Fall is here. And it sure came in with a bang. Despite the grey skies and rain the past few days, I am so excited to be going to the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference this afternoon! You can check out the live feed below.

Off to the beach!

Happy long weekend! I cannot believe labor day is here and summer is already over! It has been quite a wild ride this summer with a move, a new home, a new school and lots of new friends. These past two weeks have been the busiest I have had in a long time and I am just so happy to be spending the next 4 days relaxing in the sand on Long Beach Island. Nick and Bromley are coming to visit and I could not be more excited for our little family reunion! Bring on the seafood, the sunshine and of course the beachy cocktails. Happy Labor Day!
