Industrial Glam

I recently saw pictures of a friends new home that they converted from an old warehouse into a gorgeous modern loft and I was absolutely in love (and only a teeny bit jealous of their sweet new digs). They kept the original brick walls and flooring in tact, adding in modern touches like garage-style glass patio doors, amazing pieces of art and a kitchen that would make any chef drool. I love the combination of exposed brick, rustic wood flooring and a little glitz and glam. These photos  are some inspiration fore the perfect tension that is created when you add some luxurious fabrics, tufted velvet furniture, and gorgeous chandeliers to an unfinished space.

Chalkboard walls and sparkley band-aids

Happy Monday! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. The weather in Columbus was absolutely perfect the past two days and I really wish it did not come to an end. But alas, back to rainy reality on this stormy Monday morning. Just a little inspiration to kick off your week, I have become obsessed with Pinterest lately (if you couldn't tell from all of my image links!). For any of you who have not yet discovered the magic, Pinterest is an amazing photo sharing website where you can catalog images from the web, essentially a virtual inspiration board. Sometimes I love how images or "pins"I collect just happen to work so perfectly together, like these two below, love the colors! A gorgeous hand-dyed colorful quilt set off of a chalk-board wall and even more amazing, Cynthia Rowley designer band-aids. Completely random, I know :-)

Off The Wall

Happy Tuesday! I spent this past weekend with my girlfriends in Sag Harbor, NY in an ahhhhmazingly ridiculous house that belonged to the Aunt of one of my friends. This ultra modern dream house was absolutely gorgeous - minimalist style with lots of white played off rustic wooden floors and super sleek furniture - definitely one of the nicer houses I have been a guest in! Since the house was so stark, it left plenty of room for my imagination to run wild with decorating ideas and would be the perfect canvas for the design feature I am currently loving - painted ceilings! All of my ceilings in every home I have ever lived in have always been white and I am not quite sure why I have always ignored this surface. Painting the ceiling is a great way to add dimension to a space and really brighten things up. I especially love pop color ceilings played off of neutral walls or stark white cabinets. Here are some of my favorite inspirations for painted ceilings in an array of vibrant hues.

Sweet Dreams

I would seriously have the sweetest dreams resting my head upon these glorious beds. My bed is the most comfortable in the world, but these fantasy boudouirs are proving to be some stiff competition. I could sleep the whole day away here!

Pillow Talk

I am typically not a major fan of anything monogrammed (except for maybe a personalized Louie from Paris...but that is another story) they are typically a bit too Lily Pulitzer and over the top preppy for my taste, but these little gems from Luxury Monograms? Helloooooo GORGEOUS! Pillows, bags, napkins and place mats in so many patterns and colors from Ikat to stripes to tie-dyed amazingness with pop color embroidery. LOVE!

Decorate This Space: Dream Kitchen!

I love to cook, love to eat and love having big, family-style dinners! So when Jillian of {cornflake dreams} invited me to be a part of the "Decorate This Space" blog crawl I obviously chose to decorate a kitchen. Growing up, the kitchen in our house was always where the action happened, which I think is why I love spending so much time there! My inspiration for this kitchen came from one of my favorite brunch spots in Columbus, Tasi Cafe. It has a very lofty feel and is the perfect balance of  modern and rustic with exposed brick, cement floors, large wooden tables and brightly colored metal chairs. Tasi also always smells delicious which is a requirement in a dream kitchen of course!

Here are my inspirations for my dream space...

Check out {Aspiring Kennedy} tomorrow for the next stop on the crawl and more great decorating inspiration!

Closet Crush

I have been extremely busy the past week trying to pack up my apartment for my move this weekend! While I am SUPER excited to move I must admit I am very sad to say goodbye to my ginormous walk-in closet that I currently have filled to the brim. While packing, I have been trying very hard to let go of things I haven't worn in years in order to make room for new things attempt to fit my current wardrobe into a much smaller space (read: half the size and shared with boyfriend)...which got me thinking about my dream closet....

There are literally no words for this one...I mean, an entire wall full of shoes each with their own individual cubby?! Hardwood floors?!

Pretty much as glamorous as it gets when it comes to a closet...I think I could live in here. Love the his & hers fixtures.

This space makes me want to put on tap shoes and just dance around!

Obviously Carrie Bradshaw's fabulous closet makes the list, if not just for the amazing pieces that are sure to be in there.
