Happy Weekend, Happy Day!

It's Friday and besides that and the long weekend ahead, these are some things making me happy today.

Sunshine!
It is supposed to be a b-e-a-utiful day here in Columbus, and Mother Nature, for that, I thank you. Since sunshine has been so rare these past few months I have really come to appreciate it when it is here.

Flowers! 

Since I am seriously lacking any kind of green thumb, I am grateful that my neighbors are not, so I can enjoy their beautiful flowers and be happy spring has sprung!

Lobstaaaa!
I'm heading to Boston this weekend and cannot wait for a giant, delicious, juicy New England lobster roll from the Barking Crab. One of my favorite summer treats!

It's Friday...let's get fancy

Weather.com let me in on a little secret. It is going to be 75 and sunny here all weekend!!! I am so excited I could just run around outside waving my arms and screaming with joy! Okay so I probably won't do that, but I am going to spend as much time outside as possible soaking up lots of vitamin D. Tonight I am going to an outdoor concert and will be spending time tomorrow on some fabulous DIY projects that I can't wait to share with you next week! The amazing weather calls for an even more amazing outfit and here is my take on getting fancy this Friday. I absolutely love the color scheme of this room and thought it would translate perfectly into an outfit from head to toe. Loving all of these pieces of course! Have a happy weekend!

Hide 'n Seek

Dear Spring,

You can't keep hiding forever. This is just getting ridiculous and your little games are not so funny anymore. Please just come on out and show your bright sunshining face and show this rain who is boss!

Cycle Chic

May is bike month! The glorious spring weather typically makes me want to jump on my bicycle and ride down to the farmers market, basket full of flowers, wind in my hair and looking ever so glamorous like the ladies in these lovely photos! (Although technically I don't live near a farmer's market, don't normally ride in mini skirts, my hair is usually hidden under an unattractive helmet and it has been raining non-stop for the past month). But that is a moot point. Are you going to participate in bike month? Ride to work? Ride for fun? If you haven't ridden in a while, you know what they always say... I for one am totally loving all of these fabulous vintage cruisers.

All Over Lace

No longer reserved solely for the boudoir, lace has slowly been making an appearance and is now in full blown take-over mode for Spring from dresses to skirts to tops to accessories. Scalloped edge lace shorts? Yes please! I love the juxtaposition of delicate lace pieces paired with classics such as a chambray shirt or chunky oversized sweater to create the perfect mix of boy/girl tension. An essential on this girl's spring shopping list for sure!

I don’t know about you but my feet are eagerly awaiting the end of their winter hibernation (aka socks and boots) to be free in the glory that is spring shoes! Nude/neutral shades of shoes are definitely where it’s at this season and these are some of the top contenders as far as I am concerned. These babies range from reasonable to not-in-my-wildest-dreams in terms of their price tag (Oh Mr. Zanotti with your flawless designs and fabulous details, why do you tease me so?!). Aside from making your legs look uberlong, the neutral color provides the perfect compliment for some super bright toes!

Sprung!

Happy Monday and 2nd official day of Spriiiiiing! Time to break out the short shorts and sundresses, stash your sweaters far far away, get your spring clean on, or whatever else it is you may do to welcome the warm weather. It is a fanfreakingtastic 65 degrees in Columbus today, a perfect way to kickoff the season (except for the rain that doesn't seem to want to leave, EVER) but I will take it!

Let the Countdown Begin

Happy March! One awesome thing about the month of March is that there are only 20 days left until it is officially SPRING! I am about done for this year with snow and freezing cold and not being able to feel my fingers whenever I leave the house... so I am pretty pumped to count down the days. I am fully aware that it still may (and probably will) snow/sleet/ice storm/hail etc. throughout the end of March and beginning of April, and I'll probably still be wearing my furry boots and giant coat until well into "Spring", but hey a girl can dream.

I am  hoping my first day of Spring looks something like this... 

 Love her! If I happen to be standing in the middle of a rose garden in a giant hat and party dress in a few weeks I will totes be okay with that.
